Hello
Hello
I would like to bring forth another bit of credible and well documented evidence in support of Greece’s claim that Alexander the Great was Greek, hence, Macedonia, which was his birth place, had always been Greek since Ancient Greek Times.
Jerash, is the capital and largest city of Jerash Governorate (محافظة جرش), which is situated in the north of Jordan, 48 kilometres (30 mi) north of the capital Amman towards Syria. In Jerash, is the Gerasa of Antiquity (Ancient Greek: Γέρασα, Hebrew: גַ'רַש).
"Jerash" comes from its original Greek name "Gerasa" The word “Gerasa “was, and still is, a Greek word which means “GOT OLD”.
It is well known that “Ancient Greek inscriptions from the city as well as literary sources from both Iamvichou and the Great Etymology establish the foundation of the city as being by Alexander the Great or his general Perdiccas, who settled aged Macedonian soldiers there (Γερασμένος-Gerasmenos means aged person in Greek), https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerash.
This took place during the spring of 331 BC, when Alexander left Egypt, crossed Syria and then went to Mesopotamia, wikipedia id. Jerash was the birthplace of the mathematician Nicomachus of Gerasa (Greek: Νικόμαχος) (c. 60 – c. 120 AD), wikipedia id.
After the Roman conquest in 63 BC, Jerash and the land surrounding it were annexed by the Roman province of Syria, and later joined the Decapolis cities.wikipedia id. In AD 90, Jerash was absorbed into the Roman province of Arabia, which included the city of Philadelphia (modern day Amman). wikipedia id. The Romans ensured security and peace in this area, which enabled its people to devote their efforts and time to economic development and encouraged civic building activity. wikipedia id.
Throughout History, Jerash / Gerasa, will always be known as the City founded and named by Alexander the Great as a sort of a retirement community and/or as a sort of retirement settlement for his old Macedonian soldiers,

The cumulative effect of all documented evidence, in support of Greece’s claim, proves that FYROM is intentionally lying and is intentionally stealing History from the Greeks.
It follows that FYROM is committing a large scale massive intentional fraud and deception upon History which precludes the right to have the name Macedonia anywhere in any name for its country.
