No country ‘supports’ the Former Yugoslav Republic in the naming dispute. That is just an illusion. All Countries that have ‘recognized’ it for bilateral relations by the name it self identifies with recognize it only for internal expediency because their nationalistic government insists on bilateral recognition before it will set up relations.

The name “FYROM” is used by all international organizations and all countries when participating in any international event or on the international stage.

ALL countries will accept the new name, the FYROM has agreed to choose for itself that does not violate international convention.

The issue:

Historical Macedonia, was an ancient Greek kingdom on the northern Greek peninsula

Modern Macedonia is a Greek province corresponding almost entirely to the ancient Greek kingdom on the northern Greek peninsula.

There is an unbroken record of people identifying with a Greek ethnic linguistic and cultural identity, continuously inhabiting the land of historical Macedonia from the present to ancient times.
however,

The (Former Yugoslav) Republic of Macedonia is a newly founded Slavic state created after the dissolution Yugoslavia (union of slavic people) on what was once the kingdoms of ancient Paeonia and Dardania and is unrelated to the historical Macedonia on the northern Greek peninsula.

As part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, FYROM was known as Vardar Banovina but was renamed, the Socialist Republic of Macedonia in 1946 as part of an agenda to wrest historical Macedonia from Greece and forge for Yugoslavia a pathway to the strategically located Aegean Sea.

The convention that is violated:

The use of simply “Macedonia” to describe this Slavic state is in violation of Article 2 of the UNESCO Declaration on Cultural Diversity that states that in the interest of harmonious interaction, one nation (The Former Yugoslav Republic) in exercising its right to self determination, cannot diminish the equal right of another nation (Greece) to identify simply by its millennia old historical identity (Macedonia).

The interim accord signed by The FYROM and Greece under the auspices of the UN.

the interim accord was accepted by the Republic of Former Yugoslavia agreeing to choose for itself a name that does not violate Greece’s right to identify by its historical identity and that does not imply a territorial expansionist agenda on Greece’s historical northern province.

FYROM cannot join any international organization without first choosing for itself a name that suits its ethnic, historical and/or geographic reality. [1]

To date, the Former Yugoslav Republic not only violates international conventions but continues to not honor the commitments it made using the time to establish among people, the fake narrative of its expansionist agenda.
